First Kiss.

Cole and I have this inside joke, where every time we're really content, we say, "sittin' in the dirt." (In a really ugly accent that I won't publicly repeat). 

Because it took Cole 4 hours of sitting in the dirt to kiss me. 

So our inside joke is, we knew we were going to be happy forever, because our happiest moments are in situations like sitting in the dirt for 4 hours.

I'll explain more.

We literally got to date for a week before I got shipped off to SUU. (Fine. I chose to attend SUU. But it sure feels like I was shipped there after meeting Cole).

This meant everything had to be rushed. 

Including our first kiss.

…And Cole Peterson is not a rusher. 

But I needed to kiss him before I moved to Cedar City.

So one night we went on a drive up Suncrest. 

And we parked and were overlooking the whole world.

Let me back up for a second.

I have never had a romantic first kiss in my life.

I have never even LIKED a first kiss in my life.

So we were "sittin' in the dirt," at what felt like the top of the world, 

and the poor kid kept ALMOST kissing me. 

So I finally just said, (because I am such a shy, timid girl), "Well. Are you gonna kiss me or not?"

And he was nervous and started to tell me how he didn't want to kiss me this soon because he didn't want me to think that's all he wanted. His words were: "I like you too much to kiss you."

(I know. He's a perfect human being. You don't have to tell me).

He sighed. And we sat there for a few more minutes overlooking the lights, and I could literally hear him gather courage, (though I can't tell you what that actually sounds like), and he tipped my chin up and kissed me. And smiled. And kissed me again. 

And for the first time in my life, I LIKED a first kiss, in the most romantic place I could imagine. 

(Even though I almost ruined it with my bluntness). 

And we've been "sittin' in the dirt" and kissing ever since. ;)
